In Stretch 1, the first actions made were creating green spaces and locate a playground. More recently the connections with adjoining sections were resolved: bike lanes, the paths of the Header Park and the Stretch 2 and the access from the Noud’Octubre Bridge, creating walkable meadow spaces suitable for recreation.
The woodland planted initially remains: ombus (Phytola ccadioica), hackberry (Celtis australis), tipuanas (Tipuana tipu), Bohemian olives (Eleagnus angustifolia), braquiquitos (Kurrajong) jabonero of China (Koelreuteria paniculata), black locust ( Robinia pseudoacacia)… respecting the original diagonal grid and it concludes generating a significant shadespace for the summer season.
In Stretch 2, the presence of the Water Houseon the Old Dam of Rovella exercises as actual access door to the Turia Gardens. In this section the path meets a reference geometry usingthe water course and formal elements associated with its movement as unifying thread.
The woodland layout reinforces the geometric composition with plenty plantation of pine (Pinus pinea) and Corsican (Pinusnigra), jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia) , grevilleas (Grevillea robusta) , linden (Tilia phatyphyllos ), false acacia, mulberry (Morus alba), Ombus and parquinsonias (Parkinsonia aculeata), among others.
In Stretch 2,(between Manuel de Falla Ave. and the Passeig de la Petxina) is NaTuria, the center of exhibitions and the city’s urban environment and sustainability outreach.
It has five exhibition spaces, which show initiatives about the environment and sustainability undertaken at urban surroundings. In addition, it owns classrooms equipped for workshops and courses addressed both to schools and to associations or group of citizens.
